Job Title: Family Ministry Director
Reports To: Session/Executive Director
Hours: Part-time 20 hours per week
​
One Community Church is seeking a part-time Family Ministry Director. We are a small, growing church excited to expand the focus on our Youth & Kids Ministries. The successful candidate will lead and develop the vision for Family Ministry programming. This position will ensure youth, children and families are provided opportunities for discipling, fellowship, outreach, and missions. Responsibilities:

Provide leadership for radical hospitality at all times throughout the family ministry, welcoming new and returning families on Sunday mornings and special events, and acclimating new families to OCC.

Create and implement serving and mission experiences for children/youth and their families in coordination/partnership with the REACH Team.

Support and partner with parents in the spiritual formation of their students, training and equipping them to have discussions with and to teach their children about God’s love for them, what it means to be a follower of Christ, and what it means to be part of a community of faith.

Lead a Christ-like lifestyle and pray regularly for the church body.

Build and maintain relationships with parents of the children/youth.

Recruit and equip volunteers for Children and Youth ministries and Sunday School

Oversee curriculum coordination for Children and Youth.

Lead a weekly Youth Group program with discipling and fellowship.

Manage schedule for childcare as needed.

Create and maintain master programming calendar for Family activities along with Children’s & Youth activities and leadership.

Interact with students, leaders and parents at Sunday morning gatherings as well as any church or community events.

Lead Confirmation classes.

Ensure that the Child Protection Policy is observed in all kids/youth ministry settings and all volunteers are up to date with background checks.

Attend Staff and other leader meetings as scheduled.

Be available to maintain an average weekly schedule of 20 hours per week.
Qualifications:
-
A saving relationship with Jesus Christ, and willingness to set the example in the regular practice of personal prayer and Bible study.

2+ years’ experience education/experience leading Family, Children’s and/or Youth Ministries
-
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with coursework in theology/religion a plus.

Demonstrated Spiritual development of people.

Experience building/leading teams of volunteers.
-
A passionate, caring, and compassionate attitude when interacting with and caring for students of all ages.

Strong verbal communication and listening skills

Advanced multitasking and organizational skills

Problem-solving skills to be able to manage conflicts in a peaceful manner
